What's new?
Barack Obama is the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party!

Postcards, Not Pitchforks!

|
 |
The democratic primary election is becoming heated, and the bitterness is trickling down to the
masses. Postcards, Not Pitchforks is a grassroots effort started by Obama supporters who believe
that our behavior will have a significant impact on the nomination. We think that superdelegates
care deeply about Obama's coattails, and we want to demonstrate his ability to attract new voters,
new candidates, and future support to the Democratic Party. If we become angry and act like peasants with pitchforks,
we do not look like a trustworthy base.
Please join us in telling the party elders that
endorsing Obama will give them support they can count on!

What to do:
We ask all Obama supporters to participate in positive letter-writing campaigns. The message that we
want to get across is that we are engaged in the political process because of Obama, and that we are likely to remain
engaged -- and will support Democrats in other offices, as well. Tell them that choosing Barack Obama is
good for the Democratic Party.
We have a number of directed letter-writing suggestions. Please see the
links in the naviagation bar for details:
1) Send postcards to your superdelegates -- but please mind the caveats
listed on our site. (Caveat link removed as part of construction.)
2) Send email to the DNC. Donate, if possible.
Support Democratic candidates at all levels!
3) Send email to the DCCC. Donate if you can. If you
are willing, offer to volunteer to help with your local congressional campaign. Be sure to say that
that Obama inspired you to do so.
4) Send email to officials in the DSCC. Donate, if possible.
5) Support your state Democratic Party (links coming as part of construction.) Each of the projects
here requires a varying degree of effort -- some will take only a few minutes, and others take a significant amount of time.
Choose according to your ability. We try to have something for everyone who wants to lend a hand.
But, please remember
that our positivity makes Obama a more attractive candidate, and our personal effort makes a big impact.
